A skill is a reusable capability an agent can invoke — a documented procedure, a tool, or an integration with an outside system. Skills are how a general-purpose agent becomes good at something specific.

Where skills come from

  • Built in — OpenHive ships with a catalog of skills covering research, outreach, data, and browser work.
  • MCP servers — connect a Model Context Protocol server to expose its tools to your agents as skills.
  • Your own — author a skill as Markdown, or upload a .md or .zip file.
Manage all of them from the Skills library.

Using a skill in a request

Type / in the prompt box to attach a skill to what you’re asking for. This is useful when you know the approach you want an agent to take, instead of leaving it to pick.

Browser skills

Some skills drive a real browser through the OpenHive browser bridge, which lets agents work inside tools that have no API. These need a one-time connection before use — see Browser automation.
